Port Blair, June 28: On 27/06/2019 a credible information was received that a woman brought Gaanja from Port Blair and she is trying to sell the same at Diglipur. The matter was informed to Shri M. Umar, Dy.SP Diglipur and as per the direction of Dy.SP (Diglipur) the Police team of PS Diglipur comprising of SI Balwinder Singh, Constable Dinesh Jaiswal & Sushil Sarkar, HG Sameer Ali and Lady Constable Archana Mondal headed by Inspr. Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO PS Diglipur swung into action and nabbed the suspect near her residence at Subhashgram, Diglipur and recovered 256 grams of ganja from the possession of accused who was identified as Dweepa Mondal, resident of Subhashgram, Diglipur. The recovered illicit ganja was immediately seized and the accused was arrested on the spot for committing offence u/s 20(b) (i)(A) of NDPS act 1985.
