Port Blair, Feb 08: Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society conducted Workshop on HIV/AIDS, TB and at Garacharma, Sanitary Site Office, PBMC on 06.02.2021 on various issues.
More than 50 participants attended the programme. A large number of them were sanitary inspectors and sanitary workers from PBMC.
The Programme was conducted under the supervision of the Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society, Dr. M. Joy.
Mr. Girish Kumar, AD (SPM) modulated and coordinated the programme and spoke on all the aspects of HIV/AIDS, occurrences, spread, treatment and HIV ACT 2017. Mr. Kaushik Kumar Halder, AD (IEC) deliberated about the condom promotion and Smt. Adiba, Counselor spoke extensively on the different dimensions of STI & RTI following all the COVID-19 protocols.
Smt. Jasheeja K.K, Lab Technicain, ICTC, District Hospital Garacharma conducted the Community based Screening (CBS) for the participants and the participants were exhorted to come forward for ‘Knowing their HIV Status” by voluntarily getting themselves tested. The test report if found positive will be dealt confidentially.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Amit Bhattacharya, Sanitary Inspector.
