Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Launches Micro ATM

Port Blair, Jan 03: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Ltd., has launched Micro ATM services “Go Digital Go Cashless” on 01st January 2021 at Conference Hall of the Bank at 10:00 AM by Mr. K. Murugan, Managing Director, A& N State Cooperative Bank Ltd., in presence of Mr. R.V. Ramakrishna, DGM, NABARD, Port Blair and the Bank officials attended the programme.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. K Murugan, Managing Director of the Bank, he informed that Micro ATM is a hand held device, to enable access to banking services, particularly withdrawals, Instant Fund Transfer, Balance Inquiry and Mini Statement of the account can avail the services through this initiative. It is being promoted by the Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Ltd with supported by the NABARD, Regional Office, Port Blair.
At the outset he offers his gratitude to the NABARD for sanctioning of 4 Nos. of Micro ATMs with 100% grant support from NABARD. He later on proposed his view to install these Micro ATMs at G.B.Pant Hospital, Hight Court, Chatham and at any Shopping Complex for extending the facilities to the people who are yet to cover under banking fold. He further appreciated the IT Team of Bank for taking this challenging work in short span of time. Mr. K Murugan also requested the NABARD to further increase such ATM device so that unreached banking areas may be covered.
Further Mr. R V Ramakrishna, Deputy General Manager congratulated the A&NSt.CB customers and staffs for benefitting the service by use of Micro ATM facility. In his address, he said that the micro ATMs will provide access to basic banking services in rural areas, which will empower the rural population as far as banking needs are concerned.
Terming that the micro ATMs will augment the banking services in rural areas, he said, “Providing banking infrastructure and financial services is a huge challenge, with this initiative of using technology Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and unbanked area may be covered. The A&NSt.CB have the opportunity to transform lives and livelihood of the people”. He later on announced that more Micro ATM’s will be provided to the A&NSt.CB Ltd, as per the requirements.
At the launch of the initiative, Mr. K Murugan & Mr. R V Ramakrishna flagged off the “ATM on the Wheels” to selected area’s from across the Union Territory.
Later on Mr. Abhinav Pal, Assistant General Manager (IT) also spoke on the occasion and informed the gathering about Micro ATM facilities and its benefits, in the conclusion he has proposed vote of thanks.
