Construction of Waiting Hall and Toilet Block inside GB Pant Campus from MPLAD fund

Port Blair, Feb 01: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has provided Rs.20,40,587/- from MPLAD fund for construction of Waiting Hall in the back side of Ortho Ward and Toilet blocks in the back side of Female Ward within the premises of GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair to facilitate the poor inter Island patients coming from different far-flung  remote inter Islands such as Diglipur, Kalighat, Mayabunder, Billiground, Rangat, Kadamtala, Baratang, Swaraj Dweep, Saheed Dweep, Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Nancowry Group of Islands, Campbell Bay and South Andaman for their stay on free of cost during treatment.

The Member of Parliament during his visits to GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair had observed that poor patients along with attendants coming from various far flung and remote Islands for treatment in GB Pant Hospital as referred by the respective District Hospitals/CHCs/PHCs are facing great hardships due to none availability of accommodation facilities who are unable to  afford to stay at any lodges and not able to bear the transportation expenses to visit the hospital daily from private lodges. By seeing such difficulties facing by them, the MP has now provided fund to the tune of Rs.20.40 lakhs for the purpose for early construction of waiting hall and toilet blocks in the premises of GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair.  After construction of Waiting Hall, patients and attendants coming from far-flung inter Islands can stayed there.
