COVID -19 vaccination; Crucial Meeting of District Task Force Committee Held

Port Blair, Jan 06: Meeting of the District Task Force Committee for COVID -19 vaccination was held under the chairmanship of Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman along with Superintendent of Police, South Andaman, Medical Superintendent, GBPH, Nodal Officer, COVID, District Programme Manager, NRHM, NGOs and other officials of different departments. The progress of database on COVID-19 “Vaccination Beneficiary Management System” (VBMS) was reviewed.

In order to implement first phase of COVID-19 vaccination, the District Administration has made the database of Health Care Workers (HCWs) of all Govt. and Private establishments and the same has been uploaded in the CO-WIN web portal of Govt. of India for monitoring & line listing of the beneficiaries.

In second phase of COVID-19 vaccination Front Line Workers (FLWs) will be vaccinated, for which data from the respective department is being collected and the same will be uploaded in the portal.

The DC (SA) also reviewed the availability of cold chain in the District for collection and distribution of vaccine. He also stressed on Information Education & Communication (IEC) activities to be carried out for awareness on COVID-19 vaccine. The first phase training of vaccinators has been also imparted to the identified vaccinators.

District Administration appeals to all line departments to coordinate for better implementation of COVID-19 vaccination process.
