DG NCC Commends and appreciates NCC Activities in the Islands

Port Blair, Jan 12: NCC Units in these Islands received Director General NCC Commendation to the Commanding Officer, staff and cadets for conduct of various NCC Activities in the Islands related to NCC Day, Constitution Day, Sea awareness/Ship acquaintence Programmes, Social Service and Community Development Activities carried out by them, during critical times of COVID 19 pandemic. DG NCC has conveyed his Shabash to the cadets and has advised to continue good work in future. Both the NCC Units of these Islands (i.e 1 (AN) Indep Inf Coy NCC & 1(AN) NUNCC) had jointly carried out NCC activities from the month of Oct 20 onwards and their proactive participation had been noteworthy. Commanding Officer, 1 (AN) NUNCC, Capt(IN) Vijay Kumar Trivedi acknowledged support of A&N Administration, ANC and various other agencies in supporting these activities and conveyed his gratitude for the same. He stated that it was due to dedication and motivation of the cadets, courage of parents, who  consented the participation during COVID 19 situation and Guidance of Associate NCC Officers/Care Takers of Schools and Colleges, that has led to receipt of DGNCC Commendation and Appreciation by the NCC Units of the islands. Commanding Officer No 1(AN) Indep Inf Coy, Lt Col A.Vivekananda stated that the morale of cadets & Staff of both the NCC Units  will get boosted with the Commendation/Appreciation of DG NCC which in turn will help in smooth conduct of NCC Activities in future. Capt.(IN) V.K.Trivedi, Commanding  Officer,  also informed that proposals for procurement of new equipment for NCC Cadets, such as 0.22 firing simulators and Rowing simulators for cadets have been forwarded to higher headquarter to improve NCC Training  in these Islands.
