Port Blair, Jan 28: Good News for the Telugu Community of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, direct flights from Port Blair to Vishakhpatnam has been resumed with effect from March end 2021. The flights were earlier suspended and it had been a long pending demand of the Telugu Community of the Islands to resume the direct flights from Port Blair to Vishakhpatnam.
Mr. Y. Satya Kumar, National Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party and Prabhari of Andaman and Nicobar Islands who hails from the Telugu Community is to be wholeheartedly thanked for the resumption of the direct flights between Port Blair to Vishakhpatnam.
During his first visit a grand reception was accorded to Mr. Y Satya Kumar by the Telugu community of the Islands. Several issues of the community were also raised before him. One of the top demands of the Telugu community then was resumption of direct flights between Port Blair and Vishakhpatnam. The members of the Telugu community had explained their problems to the National Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Mr. Y. Satya Kumar took up the issue of resumption of flights between Port Blair to Vishakhpatnam with the Central Government. He spoke to the Minister of Civil Aviation Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri and finally the gift of resumption of direct flights between Port Blair to Vishakhpatnam was granted by the Central Government.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands had also earlier written a letter to Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, the Minister of Civil Aviation requesting him to resume direct flights between Port Blair to Vishakhpatnam.
