Greetings

On the occasion of Police Raising Day, I extend heartiest greetings and best wishes to police personnel of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, I acknowledge the important role of police in maintaining law & order, crime prevention and in providing safe & secure environment to the people of A&N Islands.

It was on 16th January, 1953 that Mr. Naushirwan Feroz Sauntook, an IPS Officer assumed the charge of the Superintendent of Police. This day is celebrated as the “Raising Day” of the A&N Police.

I have been informed that A&N Police is celebrating its Police Raising Week from 16.01.2021 to 22.01.2021 by organizing several activities and programmes such as awareness drives on social and contemporary issues in educational institutions, cultural-cum-interaction programmes involving public and police families, blood donation camp, cleanliness drive, Nukkar-Natak and performances by Police Entertainment Team and Police Band to strengthen police-public interface.

A&N Police has played an important role in awareness generation, community outreach and strict enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines and National Directives for its Management so as to minimize the impact and spread of corona virus. The Police force has worked tirelessly and diligently in difficult times of the pandemic. I compliment the excellent role of police in prevention and management of the disease.

On this occasion, I expect that A&N Police will continue to discharge their duties with utmost dedication and sincerity to effectively serve the people of these Islands and exhibit greater professionalism, transparency, integrity and sensitivity in their functioning.

I wish all personnel of A&N Police and their families the very best.
