South Andaman Police Strikes to Illicit Ganja Trade in the Islands, Seizes 1.014 KGS and Arrests One

Port Blair, Jan 03: The team of South Andaman District Police has proved their efficiency and booked one accused under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 with the recovery of 1.014 Kgs of Ganja.

On 02/01/2021, credible information was received that a lady is in possession of illicit ganja and was looking for customers to sell it near Ice Plant, Govind Nagar No.03, Swaraj Dweep. Immediately a team was constituted comprising PCs Chanden Sen, Aslam & S. Saroja under SI Vinit Kumar Maurya, SHO PS Swaraj Dweep. The team successfully conducted raid at Govind Nagar and arrested one lady namely Reba Mondal W/o Shri. Anil Mondal (48) yrs R/o Govind Nagar No.03, Swaraj Dweep and recovered 1.014 Kgs of Ganja from her possession following due procedure.

The entire raid took place under the supervision of SDPO Swaraj Dweep, Shri. Abishek Gupta, DANIPS and under the overall direction of Shri. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The general public is once again requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
