Success story #11: PM SVANidhi Scheme at Port Blair City

Port Blair, Jan 13: With regular income coming to a standstill during pandemic, K. Srinu, a street vendor who used to run a fast food business, opposite Ambedkar Auditorium, Aberdeen Bazaar, lost all hopes for revival of life and business until he heard about PMSVANidhi scheme.

Srinu, who supports a family of four members including his wife and two school going children, was badly hit by the pandemic and struggled hard to make ends meet. Managing even one proper meal a day for his family was getting difficult. His wife recalls how she had to borrow money from her parents to feed her starving children.  They got some ration from grocery store on credit basis to support themselves in the difficult times.

When the markets re-opened, Srinu did not have money to buy stocks for his fast food shop. He came to hear about the working capital loan of Rs 10,000 facilitated by PBMC office. He applied for the same. Upon receipt of the loan, he bought ration for family as well as the essential stocks for re-establishing his fast food business. He also paid back the money borrowed from his parents settled the credit of grocery shop.

PMSVANidhi has helped him bring back his life on track. He has regained his self-esteem and confidence. He is thankful to Administration and PBMC the support.
