Success story #12; PM SVANidhi Scheme at Port Blair City

Port Blair, Jan 17:  Smti K.Selvi, a widow who runs a tea cum breakfast shop at Haddo is one among the beneficiary of PMSVANidhi who restarted her business after receiving the working capital loan of Rs 10,000.

 

Selvi, who supports a young son, has taken the complete responsibility of running the family since after her husband’s death two years ago. Being the sole earning member, the curse of pandemic hit her hard when all her savings got exhausted.

 

Her son says that they had been through very tough days, managing their living with some ration kits which was supplied by the ex- ward councilor, and also at times with supplies from churches and other NGOs.

 

Selvi says that she came to know about the PMSVANidhi scheme from the ex-ward councilor and applied for the same in Municipal office. The 10000 working capital loan has given her much needed respite making her Atmanirbhar enabling her to purchase ration for her shop, get essential commodities   for her  home, pay her home rent.

 

Expressing her gratitude to the administration and PBMC for the support they                                                            lend to regain her business, she dreams for a better livelihood with her son.
