ANTCC organizes mass rally to mark ‘May Day’ in Port Blair

Port Blair, May 01: Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee organized a rally to mark ‘May Day’ in Port Blair for a united fight to assert the rights of workers here on 01st May 2022.

            Congress leaders and workers took out a rally from Gandhi Bhawan to the Gandhi statue and raised slogans against anti-labour policies of the Centre Government. Later, they garlanded the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Indira Gandhi at Aberdeen Bazaar.

            Speaking on the occasion, Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman of Campaign Committee, ANTCC said that the May Day rally was organized to honour the sacrifices of many selfless workers who fought for the rights of the working class.

            Mr. Bhasker alleged that due to anti-people policies adopted by the Central government, many workers in various organizations are unable to get minimum salaries for the hard work they put in without any job guarantee.

            Mr. V.K Abdul Aziz, President, DCC said that the Central Government is arresting those who raise questions about their rights. He urged all theworkers of various working unions to fight united for protecting theirrights.

            Mr. Hamid Ali and Mr. Mohd. Ali, Vice-President of ANTCC;  Mr. Masih Lugun, General Secretary, ANTCC;  Mr. K. Ganeshan, Chief Spokesperson, ANTCC; Mrs. Ratna Kannan, Mahila Coordinator Nicobar District; Mr. Tamil Selvan,Spokesperson, ANTCC; Mr. Gyan Prakash and Mr. Rafique, General Secretary, INTUC; Mr. ElayarajaAlsu, President,Youth Congress and Mrs. Zubaida Begum, Coordinator, Mahila Congress South Andaman along with several other Congress leaders were present in the rally.
