Port Blair, Nov 06: In view of adverse weather condition, the announced sailing programmes in respect of the vessels of the Directorate of Shipping Services operating in the Foreshore and Inter Island sector on 07.11.2019 may get suspended or cancelled at short notice.
“All the scheduled sailings of Inter Island and foreshore sector vessels of this Directorate, shall be subject to weather conditions which shall be reviewed one hour prior to the sailing time. This shall be continued till normalcy is restored. The commuters/general public are therefore hereby advised to plan their journey suitably so as to avoid any inconvenience. Similarly, operations of Harbour/Vehicle ferry services in Port Blair as well as in ATR during the above adverse weather conditions may also get disrupted/ suspended at short notices and as such daily commuters are also advised to plan accordingly. This is being done considering the safety of passengers and vessels. Inconvenience caused to the passengers is highly regretted,” a release from DSS said here today.
