Port Blair, June 27: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands informing him that the farmers of the Islands have only received urea from the Agriculture Department and other fertilizers have not been made available to them, which is causing problems for them.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi in his letter also informed the Chief Secretary that other essential fertilizers like Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) and Muriate of Potash (MAP) has not been made available to the farmers.
He added that the farmers of our Island are totally dependent on the fertilizers made available by Agriculture department.
He requested the Chief Secretary to look into the issue and do the needful by guiding the concerned authority to provide necessary fertilizers in adequate quantity to farmers of our Islands.
