Kadamtala, Aug 28: As most of the Fishermen in Kadamtala are residing in Shantipur, Bamboo Tickrey, and Atterji area, the Zilla Parishad Member of Kadamtala, Mrs. Swapna Mondol have urged the Assistant Commissioner Kadamtala to allow fishermen ply from the Shantipur Floating Jetty.
According to Mrs. Mondol, most of the fishermen find it difficult to keep a watch on their boats that are currently berthed in the Uttara Jetty as per the recent directions to safeguard the tribals in the area from Coronavirus.
“Earlier in the initial days of the lockdown, the fishermen of the region were allowed to ply from the Shantipur Floating Jetty by abiding proper guidelines and that was good enough for the fishermen as the Shantipur Jetty is very nearer to the Fishermen home and they can also keep watch on their boats,” said Mrs. Mondol.
Hence, Mrs. Mondol has requested the AC, Kadamtala to again permit the fishermen to ply from Shantipur Floating Jetty.
