A&N Police continues Crackdown on Bootleggers

Port Blair, May 11: A&N Police is committed to a zero-tolerance policy against bootlegging, illicit handia, and drug peddling. To ensure that bootleggers, illicit liquor sellers and drug peddlers do not indulge in any illegal activity, a close vigil is kept over the offenders and multiple raids were conducted in various parts of this District.

            During April month, a total of 41 excise cases were registered in A&N Islands and 309 bottles of IMFL, 17.5 Litres of Illicit Liquor and 15 Kg of Handia were seized. Apart from this, jungle searches were carried out to keep a check on illicit trade.

            The tireless and sincere efforts of A&N Police have succeeded in putting a hold on illegal activities and committed to taking stern action against bootleggers and illicit liquor sellers and have mounted strict surveillance.

            The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities with Police at 100, 112 and 03192-233077/273344/265965. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
