Port Blair, Jan 09: As part of Army Day Celebrations, the Army Component under the aegis of HQ Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) organised Tree Plantation and Beach Cleaning Drive at Brichgunj Military Station today. The military civic action, aimed at spreading environmental awareness and to preserve the rich bio diversity, witnessed service personnel and family members of the station taking active part in the drive. During the drive, 500 saplings were planted and approximately 3.5 km stretch of beach from Nariyal Bagicha to Ranjit Vihar was cleaned. The event concluded with the collective resolve of carrying out more such initiatives in future.
