Central Crime Station Raids Shadipur Area, Arrests Gamblers

Port Blair, Sept 22: PS Central Crime Station has again cracked down on the gamblers in the area. For the fifth time this month, Central Crime Station conducted yet another successful raid on gamblers. Dy. SP (CID) Abhishek Gupta alongwith Central Crime Station is committed to absolute zero tolerance towards activities like gambling in the area. Upon receiving the information, Dy. SP(CID) without wasting the time, immediately formed a team under Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS Central Crime Station and directed the team to conduct raid on the spot at Shadipur Krishna Nagar. The team comprising of Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, Inspr. Mohd. Elias, SI Madhab Halder, Head Constable P. Mustafa, Constable K. Rajendran, and P. K Mondal reached the spot and found the information correct and found some persons gambling in the open. Team immediately got hold of the gamblers and seized the board money and the cash in their possession. All 05 gamblers were arrested and Rs. 25,700/- in cash was recovered from their possession with board money of Rs. 23,600/-. The accused were identified as 1). Jainuddin 2). Deepak Mitra 3). M. Suresh 4). Abdul Samir 5). Nirmal Raj, all residence of Shadipur. The Police have registered a case under section 5/7 of Andaman and Nicobar gambling regulation 1951. Gamblers are having sleepless nights in wake of zero tolerance approach of Central Crime Station unit of Crime Investigation Department. The raid has taken place under overall supervision of Sr. SP(CID), Jatin Narwal, IPS.The Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these islands free from anti-social activity and keeping strict vigil over gamblers, smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substances in these Islands. General Public is requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substances, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, 9474233832 (SHO) & 8900910419 (Dy.SP CID). The identity of informer will be kept secret.
