Cleanliness Drive at Ramnagar

Port Blair, Mar 21: A cleanliness drive was organized in the surrounding areas of Community Hall, Ward No 6 and 7 under Gram Panchayat Ramnagar on 20.03.2021.
The cleanliness drive was organized by the Kesariya Hindu Vahini (NGO) in collaboration with the Directorate of RD, PRIs &ULBs. More than 60 volunteers from KHV, SHGs, Swatch Ghiris, NRLM, Ex PRIs members, and villagers have participated in the cleanliness drive, and around 10 bags of glass bottles, plastics, and other waste were collected and handed over to Gram Panchayat.
In the beginning, the Panchayat Secretary Smti G.V.Ajitha and Ex –Pradhan Shri Swapan Biswas motivated the gathering and requested for undertaking such activities in Ramnagar to promote the essence of the Swach Bharat Mission (Gramin).
At last, Er Mithun Das, (District President Diglipur) of Kesariya Hindu Vahini informed the Panchayat Secretary that their NGO will form a QRT (Quick Response Team) of 5 members from each in all 8 wards of GP-Ramnagar for undertaking sanitation-related activities.
