Coast Guard Celebrates International Yoga Day

Port Blair, June 21: To commemorate the 7th International Yoga Day, Indian Coast Guard units conducted Yoga session all over Isles with due adherence to COVID-19 precautions. The yoga sessions were in-line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister ShriNarendraModi towards spreading the importance of Yoga globally for both physical and mental wellbeing of the individuals.

However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the event was mured and celebrated virtually by CG families by participating in yoga sessions using Namaste Yoga App and online through Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga website. Yoga is an integral daily routine of CG personnel and is practiced regularly to achieve a sound mental, physical and intellectual health and to experience the sense of completeness within ones’ self. Yoga has immense healing power againstanxiety, life style and stress related diseases especially during ongoing fight against COVID-19. With this year theme ‘Yoga For Wellness’, it has become a source of inner strength for people and a medium to transform negativity to creativity amid the coronavirus pandemic.
