Coast Guard Conducted Tree Plantation Drive

Port Blair, Jan 12: Coast Guard Region (A and N) conducted “Tree Plantation Drive” on 12 Jan 20 as part of 43rd Raising Day Celebrations of Indian Coast Guard.

The drive was conducted at the Coast Guard Office, Panipat Road, Haddo. The event witnessed large scale participation of CG families including ladies and children. The aim of the event was to create awareness and enthusiasm among masses for green India, forest conservation and environmental protection.  The event was conducted by Coast Guard Ships and establishments at Port Blair wherein approximately 200 saplings of fruit bearing trees were planted. Indian Coast Guard Region (A&N) has been conducting plantation drives at regular intervals. The initiative is an action plan to maintain environmental balance in the area.
