Continued efforts by PBMC to Prevent Spread of Pandemic

Port Blair, Sept 03: Port Blair Municipal Council in its continuing efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic has deployed their dedicated staffs for collection and disposal of wastes including bio wastes of entire Municipal jurisdictions in regular interval.

Wastes are collected by the dedicated PBMC staffs with protective accessories from Horn Bill Nest, Haddo Circuit House, South Point Circuit House and Zilla Niwas and transported to the incinerator of G.B.Pant Hospital for final disposal.

PBMC is entrusted to sanitize the entire Municipal jurisdictions regularly by its dedicated team with proper protective gears as per the specified norms/guidelines. Today areas sanitized are Junglighat Market, Bhathu Basti Market, Garacharma, Killi Line, Tamil Basthi, Machi Basthi, Round Bhasti Containment Zone and Dairy Farm Sea Shore, Ward No. 09 and Ward No. 14.

Dead bodies are cremated at cremation ground including transportation                                      in PBMC’s disinfected vehicle. The Hearse vans are duly sanitized after completion of the work with proper supervision daily.

PBMC appeals to the citizens of Port Blair City to follow the rules/guidelines issued by the A&N Administration in true spirit to be safe from the spread of pandemic.
