COVID-19: Entry of tourists to Chatham Saw Mill, Mount Harriet, Wright Myo eco-tourism sites and Collinpur beach suspended

Port Blair, Mar 16: In view of the declaration of recent Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) as pandemic and public health emergency of international concern by World Health Organization (WHO) and on the basis of issuance of various advisories and directives on the subject from the Health Department of A & N Administration to avoid and postpone mass gatherings, it has been decided by the Forest Department to suspend the entry of tourists to Govt. Saw Mill, Chatham from March 17 to 26, 2020.    All tour operators may appropriately advise their clients so that tourists intending to visit Chatham Saw Mill are forewarned.

Meanwhile, it has also been decided by the Forest Department to suspend all tourism activities in Mount Harriet, Wrightmyo eco tourism sites and Collinpur beach from Mar 17 to 26, 2020.  All tour operators may appropriately advise their clients so that tourists intending to travel to this eco-tourism site are forewarned.
