DC SA with Child Welfare Committee and PS Pahargaon rescue a minor girl of West Bengal at Port Blair

Port Blair, May 08: In a joint exercise by the District Child Protection Unit under the overall supervision of Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, Chairman (DCPU)/Deputy Commissioner (SA) in coordination with the Child Welfare Committee and Police Station Pahargaon, a minor girl was rescued hailing from Howrah District, West Bengal.

            On receipt of the information regarding the missing report of a minor girl, case registered U/s 363/365 of IPC from PS, Jagacha, Howrah, Police Commissionerate, West Bengal on 05th May 2022, the SHO Pahargaon and his team acing swiftly on the matter rescued the minor girl from Teylorabad.

            The child was immediately shifted to a Child Care Institution and was attended by a team of officials of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and counselling was provided.

            The custody of the minor girl child was handed over to the Police team of PS Jagacha by the Child Welfare Committee after completing the formalities as per the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act & Rules in presence of the biological mother and grandfather of the child and officials of District Child Protection Unit (SA).

            The matter was further notified to the Child Welfare Committee and DCPO, Howrah, West Bengal for further action on their end.
