DHS (SA) withPBGKR conducts special vaccination camp for Tourist Boat Operators at Water Sports Complex

Port Blair, Jul 28: As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, the third/precaution dose is being administered to all the citizens above 18 years of age at government vaccination centres from 15th July 2022, for the next 75 days.

            In order to ensure 100%, Covid-19 vaccination, the District Health Society, South Andaman in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services and NGO Guru Ki Rasoi conducted a special vaccination camp for Tourist Boat Operators and their staff at Water Sports Complex.

            Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (SA) visited the vaccination camp and urged the Tourist Boat Operators to ensure 100% vaccination of their staff to keep themselves safe from Covid-19 while dealing with the tourists visiting these islands from different places of the country and abroad.

            He also added that the drive aims to provide an extra layer of safety and the District Administration is committed to conducting such camps to ensure the vaccination of each and every eligible citizen of the district.

            Around 216 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the camp and another such special vaccination camp for migrant laborers will be conducted at the BathuBasti parking area, opposite the IAF unit on 29th July 2022 from 06.00 AM onwards.

            Further, the eligible general public is requested to take their precautionary doses from the nearest health centres to achieve 100% vaccination in the Islands.
