Port Blair, May 12: The District Child Protection Unit under District Administration in collaboration with Block Development Office, Prothrapur conducted an awareness programme on “Legal Adoption and Various Schemes of Government” at Samiti Office, Prothrapur on 12th May 2022.
In the programme, Mr. Rajender Pal, BDO Prothrapur informed the participants about the Welfare Schemes of the Department of Rural Development such as MGNREGA, Pradhan ManthriAwasYojna, National Rural Livelihood Mission, DeenDayalUpadaya, Kaushal Yojna. He also encouraged the participants to come forward to avail the benefit from the schemes.
The gathering was also informed about the various schemes facilitated by Labour Commissioner Office such as Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board, Pradhan ManthriShram Yogi Man Dhan Yojna and e-Shram Card.
The team of the District Child Protection Unit (SA) informed the participants about the functions of DCPU with a special focus on Legal Adoption.
The programme concluded with an interactive session wherein the participants were provided guidance to link themselves for Self Help Group, MGNREGA Job Cards and other schemes, etc.
The participants of the programme were the beneficiaries who lost their breadwinners during the COVID-19 situation.
The District Administration ensures to conduct such an Awareness Programme for the needy people of South Andaman District so that the benefits of various Welfare Schemes of the Government reach the beneficiaries.
