Port Blair, Jan.8: As we are aware that Fit India movement was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 29th August 2019. Fit India movement involves behavioral change, which is possible by making it a people’s movement wherein every citizen gives time to himself / herself for being physically active and fit.
Fit India Mission under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports have planned to organize Fit India Cycle Day on 18th January 2020 to spread the message of fitness among masses.
Fit India Cycle Day will be organized by cycling groups, schools, colleges, Police, Defence Personnel, Organisations, councils, panchayats, corporations, societies, RWA’s, NGO’s, special interest groups and citizen of all age groups.
The Directorate of Education, in coordination with Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports along with all Line departments, educational institutions and Chamber of Commerce have decided to organize the mega event on 18th January 2020 with maximum of more than 500 participants. All the interested participants shall come with their own cycles to participate in the prestigious Cycle Day event at Netaji Stadium by 6 am on 18th January 2020.
The mega Cycle Day event will be flagged off on 18th January 2020 at 06:00 am from Netaji Stadium Complex via Narayan Murthy Chowk- Clock tower- Model school- Bengali club-Goal Ghar-Junglighat School junction- Junglighat Old CCS via Goenkas – Dizzy Heights Junction- Dairy farm Chowk and back to Dizzy Heights Junction- Goenkas via Junglighat Old CCS-Junglighat School Junction-Goal Ghar Junction-Bengali Club- Model School-Clock Tower-Sampat Lodge via old Hyundai showroom and culminate at Netaji Stadium.

Similarly, Cycle Day will be organized on 18th January 2020 in all Districts /Blocks/ Zones in coordination with District Administration, Deputy Education Officer of all zones, Assistant Director (Sports), Youth Coordinators of NYK, RD Department, Police Department and all other line departments will support the event with great enthusiasm to make the event a grand success.
