Port Blair, July 15: As part of its drive against encroachment on govt. lands, showing zero tolerance the District Administration, South Andaman carried out an eviction drive against such encroachments at Rangachang and Chidiyatapu.
Fresh encroachments committed on Govt. land bearing Sy. No. 17/P at Rangachangand at Sy. No.18 at Chidiyatapu villages under Port Blair Tehsil and an area approx. 31,000sq. mtrs. of Govt. land was restored to its original status.
Altogether 15 nos. of encroachments in the shape of temporary structures which were fresh in nature made up of G.I. sheets and vegetable plantations along with fencings were removed from the part of Govt. revenue land.
Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA) has once again cautioned the general public to refrain from indulging in such illegal encroachments. Further he has requested the public to come forward in case of any inquiries or information regarding such illegal activities and can pass on such information to the District Control Room on the following numbers 03192-240127/1077.
