Fine amount for overcrowding in shops/establishment & taxis/auto notified; comesinto effect from midnight of July 25

Port Blair, July 26: The District Magistrate, South Andaman in an order no. 862 dated July 25 has notified additional violations alongwith penalty for overcrowding in shops/establishments and in taxi/auto. Accordingly, a fine amount of Rs. 2500/- willbe imposed on overcrowding in shops/ establishments while an amount of Rs. 1000/- will be levied for overcrowding in taxi/ auto. As per the order, the SDM, Executive Magistrate, Revenue Officials of the rank of Patwari and above,Sanitary Inspectors of PBMC, Panchayat Secretaries of the RD Department and police personnel of the rank of the Constable and above are authorized to impose and collect fines as mentioned above. However, this does not bar any other legal actionthat may be attracted due to violation of any other Act/Law/Rule in force. This order shall come into effect from the midnight of 25th July, 2020 and shall remain in force till further orders.
