On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan which is a celebration of the unique relationship between brothers and sisters, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all my respected fellow Islanders.
May the spirit of this festival strengthen fraternal feelings, and inspire us to live in a society defined by universal respect for the security and dignity of women, especially of girl children.
I also request you all to stand for the social justice and gender equality for every women and girl children irrespective of caste, clour, status and creed
