GREETINGS

I, extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all teachers across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands  on the occasion of Teacher’s Day” on 5th September, 2020 which marks the birth anniversary of a benevolent teacher Bharat Ratna   Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who became the President of India. Teachers’ Day is an occasion when we recognize the devoted services of the teachers of our nation.  Let us show our respect, gratefulness and admiration to our teachers for making us what we are today.  On this day, we recollect and celebrate the work being done by teachers all across the nation and particularly with full enthusiasm specially in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, as well as remember the life of a great educationist and our former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan for his impeccable contribution to education. Teachers have always been given an esteemed place and reverence in our society, as they prepare children to be active and accountable participants in society. Even in these days of COVID-19 pandemic, we find in the teachers very much active imparting education for the betterment of their students despite several constraints. Teaching is considered as noble profession since it involves imparting the precious gift of knowledge to the students.  On this occasion of Teacher’s Day, I most sincerely appeal to the teaching fraternity to reorient themselves and develop new teaching methodologies for laying a strong foundation in students and to make these Islands a torch bearer for the rest of the Nation and to the World.
