Help Administration in the fight against COVID-19 by spotting persons violating COVID appropriate behavior: Secretary IP&T

Port Blair, Apr 04: The A&N Administration has appealed to the people of the Islands to get vaccinated and also sought the cooperation of citizens to spot the unvaccinated persons aged 45+. Addressing a press conference, the Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh said that efforts are on to ensure that no eligible persons are left out in this vaccination drive.

“Presently our aim is to cover 100 percent people aged 45+ so as to ensure that no one is left under this age group,” the Secretary said. To achieve this target, he mentioned that people’s cooperation is needed and they can inform about any persons who falls under the age group and has not been vaccinated through WhatsApp/dial mobile no.9474287574.

The Secretary also urged the citizens to help the Administration in its fight against COVID-19 by spotting persons violating COVID appropriate behaviour.

He urged to click pictures of violators who are not wearing face masks, not following social distancing norms etc. and inform through WhatsApp on A&N Police Helpline 3rd Eye mobile no. 9531892228 indicating the area, time and other relevant details of the violation sighted, so that stringent action can be taken against such violators.

He reiterated to strictly follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour viz. wearing of face mask and maintaining social distancing to protect themselves, their family members and the society as well from the deadly corona virus. The Secretary said that the vaccination drive will continue and efforts are on to cover all the eligible persons above 45 plus age.

The Director IP&T, Mr. Alok Kumar, Deputy Director, Malaria, Dr. Amitabha De, and Deputy Director, IP&T, Mr. RS Meena were also present during the press conference.
