Indian Coast Guard Conducts Annual IT Conference at Port Blair

Port Blair, Feb 25: Indian Coast Guard conducted 3rd annual IT conference at Port Blair on 25 Feb 19 chaired by Additional Director General, VSR Murthy PTM, TM. A total of 50 eminent personalities including senior officers from Coast Guard Headquarters & other Coast Guard Regions attended the conference. The aim of conference was to review the growth and enlargement of Information Technology in Indian Coast Guard and to converse latest IT escalations among the fraternity.

Whilst addressing the gathering, ADG Murthy emphasized the importance of IT enhancement in present scenario, especially safety and security of marine meadow. He also highlighted the importance of cyber security and encouraged all CG personnel to maintain cyber doctrines.

During the conference, onsite training on future IT projects like CITRA, SIMHA, DISHA etc were discussed. Also, various IT related topics including IT innovations to optimise ICG operations, office automation systems, provisioning of centralised internet server, creation of cyber security cell, standardisation of antivirus software, training of CG personnel for upcoming projects etc were discussed pragmatically.
