Kuldeep Requests Chief Secretary to Regularize Absence Period during Lockdown for Govt. Servants

Port Blair, Aug 12: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to implement the directions given by the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India regarding regularisation of absence period of Government servants from duty, which has happened due to nationwide lockdown. He said that many Government servants of different departments of A&N Administration did not join their duties after expiry of leave etc due to transportation problems and also restriction of movement who were stranded at different places on account of complete nationwide lockdown. However, the relevant period of their absence from duty is yet to be regularised by the respective department so far. Hence, in view of clarification issued by the DoPT, GoI, New Delhi vide Office Memorandum N o . 1 4 0 2 9 / 5 / 2 0 1 9 – Estt.(L)(Pt.2) dated 28.07.2020, the MP requested the Chief Secretary to issue necessary directions to all the departments to implement the same so as to cause relief to such employees like salary etc subsequent to regularisation of absence period.
