Port Blair, Aug 30: NGO, Living On The Edge, (LOTE) has urged the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to take up this issue of offering the low salary /remuneration to Health care providers like Pharmacist, PHN, ANM and many other paramedical staff under District Health Society/NHM, which is very low as compared to their counterparts in the UT of Delhi.
In a letter addressed to the MP, Mr. Abhay Kumar, the President of LOTE wrote that the NGO is happy to see that the MP has made request for increasing the salary of Staff Nurse been engaged under NHM / District Health Society working under Andaman & Nicobar.
But he pointed out that the low scale salary is being paid / offered to the other Health care providers like Pharmacist, PHN, ANM and many other paramedical staff under District Health Society/NHM.
“The doctors are offered an acceptable salary but the other Health care providers are been offered a very meager salary. I request you to kindly take up this issue at appropriate level, of offering the low salary /remuneration, which is very low as compared to their counterparts in the UT of Delhi. Many are working with same duties and responsibilities as their regular counterparts who are employed under the Directorate of Health Services but are paid less than 1/3 of them,” Mr. Abhay Kumar added.
ACCI in association of Administration completes 200 bedded COVID facility
Port Blair, Aug 30: To help fight COVID Pandemic, the ACCI, in association with A&N Administration has completed a 200 Bedded COVID Facility center at JNRM & Girl’s School Auditorium at Marina Park. The formal handing over of the facility to the Administration will be done at 4:00 pm on Monday, 31st August 20, in presence of Secretary Health & Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman). This facility will help the health authorities to augment the Capacity of Admitting and Extending the Treatment and Care for COVID Patients
