Member of Parliament demands to conduct summer camps for dance, music, painting and various sports activities for children

The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to issue necessary directions to Department of Sports as well as Department to Art and Culture to conduct summer camps for dance, music, painting and various sports so that children can make use of this summer vacation to learn new skills and pursue hobbies under expert guidance.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary the Member of Parliament mentioned that Summer Vacation opens up great opportunities for school children to learn new skills and pursue hobbies under expert guidance in summer camps but since last two years due to COVID-19 pandemic no such summer camps could be organised by the Administration.

He added that COVID-19 pandemic has left a negative impact on the children because of continuous lockdowns, movement restrictions, closure of schools and limited opportunity for children to socialize.

Now as the COVID-19 cases are under total control in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and there are very limited COVID-19 active cases, the Member of Parliament requested the Chief Secretary to issue necessary directions to Department of Sports as well as Department to Art and Culture to conduct summer camps for dance, music, painting and various sports so that children can make use of this summer vacation to learn new skills and pursue hobbies under expert guidance.
