Port Blair, June 15: The Member of Parliament, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma along with the Ex-chairperson PBMC, K Ganeshan today felicitated the corpse-burners by presenting shawls and sweets. While felicitating them, Mr. Sharma lauded them for what they have been doing for years and said “corpse burning is one of the most difficult work you people have been doing”. The task of burning a corpse is an arduous work as sometimes, the corpse-burners have to work for 10 to 15 hours buring several bodies in the same day. The MP also distributed face masks and homeopathy medicines to them and requested them to wear face masks and follow Covid-10 appropriate behavior.
