Port Blair, Jul 01: Fulfilling long pending demands of Garacharma, Ward No. 18 and nearby areas, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma on 30th June 2022, inaugurated a Multipurpose Hall cum Sports Club with steel truss, Tin Roofing Cemented Floor.
The work was completed at the cost of Rs. 29,85,438/- and was sanctioned by the Member of Parliament following demands raised by the general public, especially youths of the area.
The Multipurpose Hall was inaugurated in presence of the Mrs. U. Kavitha Chairperson, PBMC. During the programme the ward councillor of the area Mr. Rajesh Paul Govind, Councillor of Ward No 23, Mrs. D Radhika and Councillor of Ward No 19, Mr. Vetrivelu, other prominent members of society and the general public were present.
Addressing the gathering the Member of Parliament, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma said that the Multipurpose Hall will be of great use for the general public of the area and youths can now take maximum benefit of the hall for indoor sports and cultural events.
He said that such an asset will be instrumental in keeping youths engaged in sports and cultural activities and will help the local population in many ways.The AE works III, PBMC was also present on the occasion and gave details about the project.
In his speech, Mr. Rajesh Paul Govind the councillor of the area expressed gratitude towards the Member of Parliament for sanctioning this crucial work for the region.
