Member of Parliament requests to repair roads of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to bring relief for Islanders

Port Blair, Sept 29: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to take some immediate measures to repair the roads so that it brings some relief to the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary the Member of Parliament today mentioned that the condition of the roads in these Islands is becoming worse since last one year.

He added that almost all roads of PBMC, Zilla Parishads, State Highways and National Highways are equally damaged and full of potholes causing enormous problems to the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, especially the old age people, children and medical patients etc.

The MP mentioned that as Pachayats, Zilla Parishads and PBMC are being run without a head the situation has become further worse.

He added that roads are a basic necessity, which is required for the growth of any society but in Andaman and Nicobar Islands since last nearly one year it has been observed that the condition of roads has become so bad that people are now scared to use the roads.
