Port Blair, June 14: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, has requested the Lt. Governor to implement the order of Government of India vide Office Memorandum No. 23(4)/E.coord/2020/1 dated 8th June 2021 regarding the payment of the wages to contractual, casual and outsources persons attached to Ministries/Department during the 2nd wave of COVID-19 and to direct all the departments and organizations under A&N Administration to immediately pay the wages to contractual, casual and outsources persons.
He has further requested the Lt. Governor to kindly consider the undue hardships faced by them under the extraordinary circumstances as they were required to stay home due to lockdown imposed by Administration, they may be treated as “on duty” during such period of absences and necessary pay/wages may be paid accordingly for the period 1st April 2021 to 30th June 2021.
