Port Blair, Aug 26: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to making arrangements of transportation, accommodation facilities for the candidates appearing for JEE (main) & NEET 2020 examinations at Port Blair which are scheduled to be held from 1st -6th and on 13th September, 2020 respectively.
He informed that most of the eligible students from different remote Inter Islands are likely to visit Port Blair in advance of one or two days for attending aforesaid entrance examinations at examinations centers in Port Blair. However, due to on-going threat of COVID-19 Pandemic and also in view of lockdown, there would be possibility to face tremendous difficulties for the students coming from inter Islands towards their transportation, lodging and boarding etc in Port Blair since public transportation suspended and private lodges and restaurants are shutdown so far.
Hence, in order to facilitate the aspirating students for attending the aforesaid examinations, the MP requested the Chief Secretary to make necessary transportation arrangements for the students and their accompanies well in advance after following COVID -19 guidelines/protocol besides arrangements of Lodging and boarding at Port Blair.
