Port Blair, Aug 28: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has requested the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education), A&N Administration for early consideration of the matters which have already taken up by him in regard to re-engagement of 256 “Short Term Contract Teachers and also Part Time employees i.e. Pre-Primary Teachers, Craft Instructors, Attendants and Ayasare in the education department whose term of engagement was ended on 30.04.2020 and 16th May, 2020 respectively and their further engagement orders for the current academic session 2020-21 are yet to be issued till now.
He informed him that he had already been taken up these matters with the A&N Administration few days back and the same are pending with the Education department now for consideration. However, keeping in view of financial problems being faced by these category of employees who have no source of income as of now for their livelihood, the MP requested the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education) to look into the matter pending with the Education department for re-engagement all the 256 “Short Term Contract Teachers” and Part Time employees of 04 categories for the current academic session 2020-21 at the earliest possible.
