Port Blair, Sept 22: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands Mr. Kuldep Rai Sharma, has requested the Director General of National Cadet Corps, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi to earmark and allow one Senior Division (SD) and one Senior Wing (SW) from each unit of Army and Navy NCC from Andaman & Nicobar Islands every year to participate in the Republic Day Celebration at New Delhi.
He informed that A&N Islands is a remote place but inspire of being remote, the students of the schools and colleges takes active part in NCC. In order to boost their moral and enhance the motivation level in the cadets, the MP requested the Director General of NCC, New Delhi to earmark certain vacancies for the Cadets of A&N Islands i.e. one Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW) from each Unit of Army and Navy NCC for participation in the Republic Day Celebration at New Delhi every year from 2021 onwards.
