Port Blair, Apr 02: Acting on a specific intelligence input received from a reliable source, the Police team from Narcotics Cell, CID Unit consisting of Sub-Inspector M.A Rasheed, Constables K. Rajendran & Raja Rao intercepted one person namely Sukdeb Biswas S/o Late. Harendra Nath Biswas (40) yrs R/o.Chaturiya, Noarpara, Dist North 24 Pargnas, West Bengal at VSI Airport near parking area , who had arrived at Port Blair from Kolkata on 28/03/2023 by flight. Total 3.397 kgs of Ganja which was clandestinely concealed in his bags was seized from him and the said person was arrested on the spot observing all codal formalities. On this, a case vide Crime No: 22/2023 dated 28/03/2023 U/s 20(b)(ii) B NDPS Act 1985 has been registered at PS CCS. During interrogation the arrested accused person disclosed his one associate namely Utpal Dhali S/o.Mr. Patitpaban Dhali (38)yrs R/o. Paschim Khilkapur, Netaji Palli, Dutta pukar, Barasat, Dist North 24 Pargnas, West Bengal presently residing at Guptapara near Sitala Temple, South Andaman who planned to bring afore said Ganja consignment to Port Blair and provided air ticket to him. Accordingly, on 29/03/2023 the above associate is also arrested as per law.
