Nicobar Police Seizes huge haul of liquor- 1455 IMFL Bottles; Accused arrested

Port Blair, July 24: Nicobar District Police in its constant endeavour to eradicate the menace of illegal sale of liquor has once again proved their efficiency and efforts to curb down the bootleggers with a seizure of 1455 bottles (1267 Nos of 750 ml and 125 Nos of 375 ml  and 67 Nos. Can Beer).

The Campbell Bay Police comprising ASI SDS Bansal, HC/2055 Yemant Rao, HC/2365 VC Sekhar, PC/2369 S Karthy, PC/1317 Mohd. Hussain, PC/981 Sumathi, PC/2410 Tapasi Dhali, PC/768 K.M Basheer, HG(R)/130 Mariamma, headed by Inspector Aditya Narayan, SHO PS Campbell Bay conducted raid at Kamal Basti and arrested the accused by booking him under relevant sections of Excise Regulation with a recovery of 1455 IMFL bottles.

The entire operation took place under the direct supervision of Sh Prashant Choudhary, DANIPS, Dy SP, Campbell Bay and overall supervision of Shri Rajeev Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District.

So far, this year PS Campbell Bay has booked 72 Excise Cases and recovered 1519 Nos bottles IMFL, 57 Kg Illicit Handia and 69 litres Illicit liquor by arresting 72 bootleggers.

Nicobar Police is keeping strict vigil on all anti-social activities. The general public is requested to pass on credible information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03193-264210. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
