N&M ZP Adhyaksh urges South Andaman Administration to take Decisions for the Stranded Islanders

Port Blair, August 27: In this state of lockdown imposed till the end of this month, due to the increased Covid-19 cases, many people of different islands are stuck in Port Blair.

 

The Chairperson, N& M Andaman, Zilla Parishad as now requested the South Andaman DC to take necessary steps to help these people reach back their respective places.

 

In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District the Chairman, Zilla Parishad North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Dipankar Mistry said that, there are many residents of North and Middle Andaman who are stranded in Port Blair, who went for treatment and other purposes.

 

Because of the extension of the lockdown till 31st August, it appears that they are in trouble due to their non affordability and also because of the closure of all the convoy movements for North & Middle Andaman as well. He requested the South Andaman administration to take necessary actions and decisions to send them back to their respective places by ship or bus.
