One Myanmarese Poacher Apprehended From Tillong Chaung Island

Port Blair, Jan 09: On 07/01/2020 a team of Police personnel led by SI M.Sarvanan along with HC/021005 Thiru Murugan(IRBn), CT/021335 Ranjit Roy, CT/021362 Abdul Jabbar and CT/051661 Abraham had gone for patrolling around Light House area of Tillong Chaung island. When the patrolling party reached Lal Balu area, police party got apprehensive of presence of a fishing foreign dinghy. Upon extensive search, no dinghy was found in sight but police party noticed movement of someone towards the Jungle. The police party immediately chased him and caught him.

After capturing, it was found that he is a Myanmarese Poacher who was accidently left by the poaching party in a hurry. He was not in good condition and had a snake bite. Soon, a communication was also sent to the Indian Coast Guard to look out for suspicious vessel.  Subsequently, a rescue team of Police officials along with a medical team from Nancowrie was sent to Tillong Chaung  via M.V.Katchal boat. Thereafter, he was rescued and admitted at CHC Nancowrie for further treatment. His condition is said to be stable. Enhanced vigil is being maintained by Nicobar Police for the presence of any foreign poachers.
