Online payment of Stamp Duty & Printing of e-Stamp Certificate huge success

Port Blair, Mar 21: The online payment of Stamp Duty & Printing of e-Stamp Certificate launched by the A&N Administration in collaboration with Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited on 17th Dec. 2020 and has been a very huge success and also very popular among the general public as the system allows to buy e-stamps upto a maximum of Rs.1000/- from their comfortable place as per their convenient time.
The basic requirements for online e-stamping is any handheld device with internet connection and printer. Citizen may visit the website www.shcilestamp.com and login as guest or proceed to register.
The Client is required to make a one-time registration with basic details. An URL will be sent to the registered mail id for activation which has to be activated by the user. This user credentials can be used across all online products of e-Stamping (non-judicial) and e-Court fee (judicial). The same user credentials are valid for all States/UT wherever online facility is available. In case of guest login, OTP will be sent to the mobile number for further verification.
After the registration, Client would enter all the details of the transaction such as the Name and address of the parties, Consideration and Stamp duty amount etc. On submission of these details a Transaction Reference No. will be generated. Against this reference no., the user has to make online payment through Net Banking or VISA Debit Card via Payment Gateway Services. Once the payment is completed and successful, client is required to print the e-Stamp Certificate in A4 size plain paper. This citizen centric initiative has simplified the procedure and streamlined the entire process.
However, lately it has come to the knowledge of District Administration that some unscrupulous persons operating computer centres in the town are taking advantage of this and demanding general public to pay an amount twice the price of the stamp paper. The General Public who don’t have direct access to computer system to purchase e-stamps online are being duped by such computer centres. The District Administration hereby warns all such persons to avoid such malpractice and also request the general public to come forward and submit complaint against such persons, so that strict and penal action can be initiated against them.
Further the District Administration urges the public to use the online e-stamping facility for their needs and in case of any issues in this regard may approach the office of the Deputy Commissioner/Collector, South Andaman or contact Shri K.
