Port Blair, Jan 05: The Chairperson Port Blair Municipal Council Mr.N.K.Udhaya Kumar and Mr.SomeshwaraRao, Junior vice Chairperson, PBMC along with a delegation of Councillors met the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (PW) Dr. V. Chandavelou, IAS at his Office on 3rd January 2020.
The Civic Chief apprised the Commissioner-cum –Secretary (PW) about various issues pertains to PBMC. Due to unavailability of quarry products for the last few months the Council is not in a position to carry out major developmental activities like maintenance of roads and other allied works.
The Chairperson highlighted the issue of curtailment of water supply in the Municipal limits, and further the Chairperson requested the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (PW) to take up the work of renovation of major drains within the city limit. After a patient hearing the Commissioner-cum –Secretary (PW) informed the delegation that due to delay in monsoon the process of curtailment of water has been started earlier. Further he assured that all the matter appraised by the Civic Chief will be resolved at the earliest.
