Police urges Islanders to Report Cyber Crime Online

Port Blair, June 11: Ministry of Home Affairs has developed a “National Cybercrime Reporting Portal viz. www.cybercrime.gov.in” for ease of filling of complaints relating to cybercrimes by citizens on “anywhere, anytime” basis with special focus on cybercrimes against women and children. An AI based chat bot is also available to help and assist citizens in filling complaints on the portal. Further, a toll free helpline 155260 has been made operational in all States/UTs to assist citizenson Cybercrimes. Moreover, a Twitter handle @cyberdost is also there to spread awareness related to safeguarding the citizens against cybercrimes.

            This is brought to the notice of general public that in case of cyber fraud, you may register and track your complaint online on “National Cybercrime Reporting Portal” at https://www.cybercrime.gov.in. Use Toll free helpline 155260 between 9 AM to 6 PM (Monday to Saturday). Chat with “VaniChatbot” available on portal for guidance. People can access cybercrime awareness materials on the portal and follow Twitter handle @cyberdost to get latest updates on awareness related to cybercrime.
